Excellent!

Love this book! This book is filled with so many great practices that allow us to consciously move into creating an on-purpose and fulfilling life.

Lee's writing style is friendly and easy and inspirational. In sharing some intimate stories of her life, she drove home for me how it all truly works when we practice this stuff. The more we practice these tools, the closer we get to mastering the life we choose and love.

I believe this is an essential guide in the journey of living the life we love for people of all ages. For me, it was especially poignant, having turned 60 and trying to work on my "Act 3" in life.

TRULY TRANSFORMATIONAL

I immediately got immersed in Zoe and the Missing Clown Costume. Zoe, a girl with CP, Buttons and the gang search for her missing clown costume and adventure ensues as they discover new things about each other and learn to work as a team to try to find the clown suit. Danielle has wrote a sweet, inspiring story that immerses you in her energy and drive to make people happy!

Incredibly funny story! You won't stop laughing and smiling

Pat's cats are absolutely crazy. The stuff that these felines dream up is bonkers! I love it. The old characters are back in this book - as well as some new blood. Speaking of new characters... The people that Pat comes up with just blows my mind. These people are all nuts, and I love it. It makes for a really fun and adventerous story.

Again, the names are a huge win in this series. I love how they don't have normal names like Bob and Carol (Well, they do but...well, Just read the series and you'll see what I mean) but they've got names like...The Repeater...wait til you meet this character. You're going to be giggling the whole time.

I definitely don't want to give anything away, so I'll hush here - but I will say that if you're looking for a book that's an extremely fun read, and it's one that you can read in just a little while - then definitely pick up this book, you won't regret it. Make sure to pick up the first episodes as well, if you haven't or you REALLY won't know whats going on now!

The group is growing and so are the antics that take place in Hatt’s life.

In this book a few new characters are introduced. I could not stop laughing when Hatt spoke about his new neighbor who cannot sing. A couple years ago I had an obnoxious neighbor in my apt that is exactly the same. They were loud, boisterous, and certainly had the worst singing skills and choices of music. Hopefully the American will take care of the situation although popping back pimples is absolutely disgusting. This series is certainly worth the few dollars as it provides quite a bit of entertainment and is about a crazy group of friends that become intertwined in each other’s lives.

You need to read this series!

After reading episodes 1 and 2 of course I had to pick up this one! I think this one is my favorite so far, but as with all this author's writing, it is difficult to pick a favorite!

I laughed so hard as I read this book, not only because the material is funny, it is, but because I could so see myself in this situation! This series is so original and so well written, and such a great escape from the ordinary!

Do yourself a favor, pick up this series, you will thank me!

A Good Dumbed-Down/Shortened Version of WCB

This is a dumbed-down and shortened version of Plantinga's brilliant "Warranted Christian Belief". It's a good introduction to Plantinga's epistemology for people who have no philosophical background, but laymen shouldn't think that, after reading this short book, they've mastered Plantinga's thought (which is the case with the person who gave this book a one star review). If the reader is interested in other books which are half technical and half aimed at they lay person, they should see his "Where the Conflict Really Lies: Science Religion, and Naturalism" and "Warranted Christian Belief", but be warned that those books are not nearly as readable/easy to understand as this book.

get and read this book

Finally I can understand Plantinga and how he has done a service to knowledge , philosophy and belief. After reading 100s of philosophy and theology books, I can attest that this short and concise read is probably the best. This book answered so many questions I had and ones I didn't know I had. Christian scholarship is well justified in its own right and Plantinga tells us why. How meager are many approaches in distinction to this. Is Plantinga hard to read, yes. But, this work is not. He has done a masterful job of making his ground breaking philosophical and religious work, finally accessible. If you really listen to this book you will be uplifted in mind. Headed to be a classic, get and read this book.

I have read Warranted Christian Belief and it was incredible. Quite a trip for a young 17 year old to take, but worth the struggle. From his trilogy on Warrant, Plantinga has inspired me greatly, and it is clear that he is brilliant and is praised so highly for a reason. This is the layman's version of WCB, and from what I have read of it, it is much more accessible to said layman. I hope anyone that is curious about rationality, warrant, and Christianity will give this book a whirl. And even if you are not, I dare you to so you may receive some food for thought.

A fun and quick read written in a cheeky style. The author offers various insights into the "Law of Attraction" and points out common misunderstandings.
It doesn't to into him much depth but instead offers an overview and some best practices.

I am not usually prone to envy. I did however, get a taste of that emotion when contemplating the subject matter of this book – Alan Richardson’s youthful correspondence with magical great, W.G. Gray.

The book is simple: a reproduction of many of Gray’s replies to Richardson’s magical and spiritual queries from 1969 through the mid-1970s. The wisdom, depth, compassion, simplicity and utter grounded spiritual presence moved and amazed me. And I was already highly appreciative of Gray and his place in modern magic.

I was expecting the letters to be more an outpouring of Gray’s personal opinions on topics mixed with material I was already familiar with. Instead the letters were alive and the answers from Gray touched on magical and spiritual topics were so succinct and honest they, at times, shook me. The spiritual and magical ‘currents’ behind the words, typed on an old Remington typewriter, remain present today. God knows how the young Alan Richardson coped with reading them.

For example, straight away in the first letter the statement of a constantly repeated theme:

This will probably sound awfully disappointing to you, but no matter where you go, who you meet, what sort of situations you get into, you will always be thrown back on yourself in the end, so - you might as well start there in the first place and save an awful lot of time, worry, expense, and what have you’.

Simple. No inclination towards magical or spiritual jargon, yet the heart of magic. And within a month Gray, in a few lines, presents more sense on magical ‘contacts’ than that found in many groups and books:

By the way, don’t attempt to ‘hear words’, ‘just get it by contact”. The contact will sort itself out into English via your mind in its own time. In fact it is silly to expect English or any other human language on that level, for no one speaks like that there. Once you have build [sic] up your symbolic translating machine via the “Letters”, and so forth, the sense will “come English” all right.”

Brilliant. And likely more than a 17 year old could understand at all. In fact, the letters throughout the book provide a great amount of real, practical and thought out information on magical contacts and spiritual entities, proven over the years of Gray’s life. I’ve not read better aside from Dion Fortune and Gareth Knight:

It [the contact] will only answer you from the information you have “banked” with yourself, but the way the information comes out and the new knowledge you gain from this should have come from [the contact].

and

Put in childish terms (which are often clearest) the HGA [Holy Guardian Angel] is something (or someone) you and God invent between you as a communicating agency.

The same clarity of thought and obvious experience is present in Gray’s comments on many topics and questions, as relevant and as crucial today as then. In fact, many of the topics covered in the correspondence, even the same questions, are now being asked by newcomers on Facebook groups. The answers they receive (when they do) have to be filtered from masses of garbage and still pale against the wisdom Gray imparted to Richardson. This includes subjects such as: why do so many adepts prance about like idiots; the role and place of sexuality in magic; the tension between tradition and innovation; and the pros and cons of joining magical groups.

Gray, typically, is very direct and blunt in his answers. Witness this reply to Richardson’s melancholic account of the ending of his relationship:

In this life you will not only have to learn how to be “alone” in your Self, but how to succeed spiritually with this process, so that you can become an Individual Entity in your own right … You are not looking for a mate really. You are looking for missing parts of your Self which you know “deep down” must be evolved.

and … something even more relevant to today with self and internet publishing:

Another question to ask yourself. Just how many what I call real occult books have been published in the last few years? The “occult explosion” is a myth invented by publishers to launch rubbish on the market.

Gray of course published many books, all of which were ‘real’ occult books, as is the one under review. Despite sharing (or whinging!) about how little money and reward publishing brought in (‘so much Malkuth for so little Kether’), he never succumbed to temptation to join the ‘occult explosion’:

Christ, I could write crap as well as anyone, inventing phoney “spells”, ... and all the bloody stupid irresponsible rubbish that hits the sales counter. BUT could I live with myself afterwards even if surrounded by rising royalties? No.

Despite these and other comments, I did, as Richardson suggested in his foreword, find myself surprised. Underneath these letters is one overriding quality: love. Gray loved magic, loved sharing his information and loved that the work may continue. This set of letters does this wonderfully. It has deep treasures and is actually much more relevant to the internet generation of modern young magicians than a single young man from the North of England.

Forget magical forums, forget searching for relevance on Facebook posts – this slim volume will enrich newcomers and experienced alike. A must for anyone wanting to apply magical principles to their life. Highly recommended.

Letters a bit light

I enjoyed the one sided conversation of the Magical Curmudgeon to wide eyed youthful Richardson, but I wished that Richardson would have added more of his own thoughts and insights to show the timely development of his own thinking as influenced by the 'old sod'.

I think one of the most telling and interesting sections is when Gray interprets the fact that no one will publish his writing as a push back from the forces of darkness, rather than the rather more prosaic and more likely reason that there simply was no market for his work at the time.

As an historical record, I am glad that the book was published, but if you are looking for magical insight I am afraid it is a bit thin.

Four stars for a good effort. More Richardson in the book and I would have given it five.

An important book for all esoteric seekers. Well written and edited. The author shows a practical approach to acquiring esoteric knowledge and applying it to your daily life. It will help if the reader has a basic understanding of Kabbalistic thought.
