We meditate to obtain peace of mind. Occasionally, people mistakenly believe peace of mind to be a state from which all worries have vanished. Throughout our whole lives as humans, our worries won’t cease. When one worry is resolved, a new one soon develops to take its place. True peace of mind comes from an attitude of acceptance. The living must worry, anyway. It’s proof that we live. Worry about something for a while, and you’ll come to a point where you make a choice. Try to put that choice into practice, and you’ll find that greater worries and choices are waiting for you. That’s life. Once you reach some realization and conclusion through deep worry, your wandering ends and peace comes to you. At the same time, you realize the things you’ve been worried about were so trivial. And that’s when greater worries begin. Don’t hope to be worry-free. Don’t hope for an ocean without surging waves. Truly give your all to passionately walking the path of life your soul and conscience have chosen, and boldly embrace all worries coming to you on that path.

Stimulating, calming, clarifying, grounding and inspiring - all at the same time.

It is subtle and stimulating as well as calming at the same time. I love this book and I reach out to this every Sunday afternoon (or any time when I am lost and need to ground and stabilize in the middle of the whirlwinds called life). It is difficult to stop at on message a week but please resist the temptation :). Let one message resonate around for a bit. Let your mind to fully digest the points be empty and ready.

Wisdom that touches the heart

This has got to be one of the best books ever written! Each of the 52 meditations are perfect for introspection at a very high level and the wisdom directly touches the heart. Thank you to Ilchi Lee for creating not only beautiful meditations -- the Calligraphy is simply outstanding. I see something new each time I look at the artwork (meanwhile thinking "how is it possible to see so many things at once!). :-) Enjoy!
