A wonderfully sweet story

Don't go into this book looking for hot and heavy, you're not going to get it. What you will get is a sweet romance with beautiful characters, full of love. This last bit is a spoiler, but I'm a big believer in trigger warnings: there is also a death of a child to leukemia. I wish I'd have known, not because it's a trigger for me (mine is rape, and it recently came up in a book that didn't offer a warning), but I would've liked to be prepared with a case of Kleenex. It's handled with grace, but it still tore me up, so be prepared. There are a few editorial errors, such as using the wrong word (wondered instead of wandered, for example), but they didn't detract from the story at all.

An outstanding love story

She was a dedicated Doctor who was responsible for children that were suffering from what could described as a losing battle with life. Her life prior to becoming a Doctor was far from being a happy one. Her father was very stern and not pleased when she chose her major in college so much that she worked to pay for her education even though he was also a Doctor in another field, and rich. She had fallen in love when was sixteen but they became separated and did not meet again for 14years, even then she didn't recognize him. Her old love had become a recognized and outstanding football player, but l' m giving out too much of the story. This is a must read, otherwise it will your LOSS! Good reading.

You Don't Have To Be A Football Fan, Just A Sucker For Love.

I need to start off by saying that I am not really a fan of sports-themed romances. But I received this book as a giveaway on a blog and the overall concept was one that I couldn't wait to tackle (ha!). Before I was even done with the first scene, the author had yanked me in for the long haul. Devon's dedication to finding his EJ could have made him look weak and needy. But Graykowski did a great job of balancing his strengths and weaknesses. I loved the way Laney spouted statistics. I loved Sweet Louise and every member of the Lone Stars. And I especially loved Lara and all of the sweet and gut-wrenching moments she brought to the book. Oh, goodness, I have a stomach ache from all the emotions I've been feeling -- and that's just from reading the last few chapters today.
The only reasons I didn't give this book the full five stars were nit-picky. The editing seemed to deteriorate as I got closer to the end. Lots more typos. Nothing too distracting, but there, nonetheless. And there really didn't seem to be a black moment, where you just aren't sure if Laney and Devon are ever going to get their happily ever after. It was implied. It was always implied. And you know what? The writing is so dang good that I didn't really care that I was a bit cheated on the climax. I got a great story and I'm okay with that.
