I thought I knew what this book was about ...

...when I picked it up. And I wasn't completely wrong. I know the rules: (1) Never diet, (2) Never deprive yourself, (3) Use self-awareness, common sense and knowledge. What I didn't know: that I have no common sense when it comes to weight loss! This book really helped me to understand that how I THINK about my weight effects how I ACT about it. It was this phrase that really set home with me: "When you stop dieting and stop looking at your weight as an isolated part of your life, you’re back in the driver’s seat." The author combined science about how our brains work, real-life stories and honesty to help me understand how to get back into the driver's seat.
