A Gem of a Book by a Gem of an Author

This gem is the best book I have ever read about opening the third eye and developing spiritual sight. The author has done extensive research about the subject--Not only historical and scientific research, but also her own investigations through 50 years of her own spiritual practices. She spent over 20 years studying with the famous guru of the Beatles, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and she has written this book from personal experience.
The book is chock full of ancient techniques from the Far East that the author simplifies for anyone to practice. It teaches several meditation practices for developing ESP. It teaches tests of spiritual discernment, by which people can distinguish between true messages from the spiritual plane and false messages from the mental plane. But the best thing about this book is that it's not about phenomena. It's about the real experience of self-realization and higher consciousness.
Susan Shumsky is a rare author in the human potential field, because she's not about self-promotion or bragging about her own attainments. She's not trying to build a following or get fans. I've read several of her books, and they are always about empowering people like me to take the reins of our own life and develop our own spirituality.

I Saw Light Bursting in My Forehead

In yet another of her practical, down-to-earth spiritual self-help books, Susan Shumsky offered a gamut of techniques that I was able to use and practice. While using one of the meditations, I saw light bursting in my forehead. I found the instructions easy to follow. In case that isn't enough, she also provided an array of scientific research to back up her premises. But it's not written in a dry, technical style. It's warm and friendly, like her other books. I found out so much about the third eye from reading this book! I didn't know that it is in the pineal gland, or that the pineal manufactures DMT, or that the third eye was known by people from all cultures, including Plato and Descartes. There is a lot of information in this book that would be impossible to find elsewhere, including the secret key to unlocking and using the ancient scripture Yoga Sutras. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to develop their spiritual sight.

Awaken Your Third Eye by Susan Shumsky, DD explains how to access the sixth sense using practical examples and advice. For instance, the author explains the sources of our inner voice from the Divine, internal influences of the mental world, the astral world of lower beings and externalities around us.
The Divine realm is the higher self consisting of angels, deities, prophets, deceased relatives and others. The mental realm consists of past events and experiences which shape us all. The astral realm consists of lost souls who died and did not reach the higher states of being. Lastly, the environment is everything that surrounds us.
Overall, Shumsky's book is very helpful in explaining how to get in touch with the divine or higher order of existence. As such, readers will enjoy the presentation immensely.In addition, the author explains the biology of the pineal gland which is a master gland which regulates body cycles.
