Rann Murray is the Harlan Coben of Sci-Fi

Rann Murray is the Harlan Coben of Sci-Fi. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, but be prepared, this is just a teaser for work to come and will be over before you get started. However, it left me fulfilled and in stitches with a few audible guffaws. The characters are vivid through the result of talent and good writing, allowing the reader to see them as they please. Most enjoyable for me was the cadence, like a ball bouncing down a staircase, gaining height and speed as it travels. The Sci-tech was just enough for a hard core Sci-Fi reader yet would not lose the novice. Rann seems to have struck oil in this chronicle and one that will make him hugely popular. I am still laughing aloud at some of Billy's lines, which is never a good thing to do in an elevator, filled with people around you.
In summary, this is the epitome of the word clever-- in a shark-skin spacesuit.

There's an app for that.

Rann Murray has put his foot in it this time. In fact, he's jumped into the deep end of the Sci-Fi/Fantasy pool, feet-first and hasn't come up, yet. When he does, I hope it will be with the next installment of The App-Jacker Chronicles.
This is a fun, albeit quick read, almost Micky Spellane-ish in its quick wit and first person narrative: Think Sam Spade but without the Bogart lisp. Although the lead character would be quick to point out, "There's a bio-app for that and I can get it for ya wholesale." 'And all the profit goes to me.'
As I said, this is a quick read, but hey, unless you've had way too much mac'n'cheese, how long you gonna sit there in the reading room? Well done, Rann.
