Hilarious story that had me actually laughing out loud

At the start of the novel, Remy asks a tough question. If you knew the end of the world was coming, how would you spend the time you had left? Would you try to make up for a lifetime of sin, or seek to reunite with family one last time? For Remy, the end of days sends him on a different path, one involving a green crayoned letter and nine unfulfilled challenges left over from his youth, including finding the answer to man's greatest question. Remy's story is set not so far in the future, but in a very unfamiliar world. Thanks to an all powerful company called Glomitrox and a jaw dropping conspiracy involving pharmaceuticals and liver transplants, all of North American has been consolidated into Glamerica. All Hail Glam.
There's some pretty unexpected humor in here courtesy of Remy's complete lack of brain to mouth filters. More than once I actually laughed out loud, like when Remy attempts to "calm the situation" by assuring a woman she could spank him and make him a sammich any time. Or how he acquired his van. I gotta remember to steer my next car salesman underneath an air conditioner. It's a hilarious tale about a hapless, hopeless man, free pizza, accidental fires, Prince Albert, and stolen mustaches. Remy bumbles his way through life like Tommy Chong in search of weed, oblivious to the mayhem he leaves in his cigarette butt strewn wake, and clueless to the fact that he's becoming a pawn in a much larger game. It's a well written, clever story that entertains as well as provokes a bit of thought afterwards, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Delightful story and great humor

I am a fan of many different genres of fiction but one that I continue to return to over and over again is anything that is laced with a fair amount of humor and wit. They say that laughter is good for the soul and I take this to heart so search out fiction that will make me smile, giggle and laugh out loud. Author Andrew Snook has accomplished all of this for me in his delightful debut novel "Remy's Dilemma".
The story of a man, Remy, who has quite a bit to come to terms with as he becomes convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that the sky is falling - or that the world is ending - same thing. It is about 25 years in the future and a lot is the same, yet there are some fun technology differences and other subtle advancements with international borders and such. As Remy goes forth to check things off his bucket list and find meaning before Armageddon arrives, he runs into a pretty substantial roadblock. It seems that he has become a suspected serial killer. This sets up a series of pretty awesome events as he works to elude, often despite himself, the detective who is pursuing him.
This was a great read for me. I found the writing to be superb and the characters all well developed and quite likable from the start. I loved Remy and his attitude, and was very happy with the way the story ended. Lots of great humor here that had me laughing out loud throughout. Well done.

Dilemma

First of all my appreciation comes for the unique, funny and creative way that the author has chosen in approaching the story of this novel - expecting the end of the world to come soon, Remy, the main character has a second look at his bucket list and tries to pick the most important thing among the items he has listed to complete before Armagedon. The chosen one is answering man's greatest question, and that has Remy embarked for a wonderful, unexpected and filled with adventures journey in finding his answer. A hilarious writing style, that contributes to the uniqueness of the story, is actually what covers a thought provoking, suspenseful set of adventures. I have really enjoyed this novel, as it stands out among other readings as being original and creative.
